Hot Air: Meeting Canada’s Climate Change Challenge
MONTREAL, July 10, 2007 – Following three successful editions, the Tremblant Forum on corporate responsibility and sustainability has become one of Canada’s most important venues for the exchange of ideas on some of the biggest challenges and opportunities faced by companies, governments, and members of civil society. Held on September 19th and 20th in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, the theme of this year’s conference, is Responsible communications for a sustainable reputation. Organized by NATIONAL Public Relations, the event will bring together 140 participants from various stakeholder groups.
“Continuous improvement in corporate responsibility and sustainability performance depends on the level of awareness, commitment and motivation of ALL stakeholders, from Boards of Directors and employees to customers and suppliers, from investors and regulators to activists and neighbours. While policies and standards provide a framework for action, it is only through consistent and credible communications that any progress can be made and sustained,” explains Rick Petersen, Partner and Senior Vice-president, Corporate Responsibility at NATIONAL.
The event will begin on September 19th at 5:30 p.m. with a book signing by Jeffrey Simpson, National Affairs Columnist for The Globe & Mail, who will be launching his new book on climate change - Hot Air: Meeting Canada’s Climate Change Challenge. Once again, Tremblant Forum will be certified as a “carbon neutral” event by Planetair.
